It’s that time of the year again! The East Portland Rovers are back to  help put on four National Night Out (NNO) and Movie in the Parks events. All movies will have Spanish subtitles.

As in previous years, the National Night Out part of each event will start at 5:00 p.m. Each event will have booths to browse, food vendors to  choose from and activities for the kids.  At 6:30 the selected  bands will start to play, and at the dusk, the featured motion picture will begin.

The Rovers start out by helping the Parkrose Neighborhood Association at their National Night Out with their event on Friday, July 28. They’ll have family activities, and be showing Zootopia at dusk. It’s taking place this year at Knott Park, located at NE 117th Avenue and Knapp Street..

They’ll rove next to the Powellhurst-Gilbert NNO event on Sunday, July 30 for their neighborhood event, featuring a showing of the movie Sing, at  Earl Boyles Park located SE 107th Avenue & Francis Street.

Mill Park Neighborhood continues the fun on Tuesday, August 1st, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Mill Park, with a wonderful community event and a free hot dog dinner, while supplies last.

The last NNO event at which the Rovers will help out will be in Wilkes, where the feature film will be Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children on Saturday, August 5th at Wilkes Park, located at 3655 NE 154th Avenue.

Please come out and help support your local neighborhood  associations! If you need more information or would like to volunteer, sponsor, or host a table giving out helpful information to the community, please contact us at eastpdxrovers@gmail.com.  Hope to see you all there!
