Plaid Pantry on Halsey
Plaid Pantry is planning to occupy the currently empty commercial space located at 10355 NE Halsey St, Ste A. The team presented their "Good Neighbor Plan" (GNP) to the board, then answered questions and addressed concerns. Teri Poppino noted that the team has been open to accommodating changes to the wording of the GNP. Their next neighborhood Convenience Store Meeting will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, April 5, 2010 at East Portland Neighborhood Office (EPNO) located at 1017 NE 117th Ave. Teresa Hatfield with EPNO will send a meeting notice to PHAN’s email list.
Andi, Stephanie, and AJ each have one potential nomination for Member-at-Large positions.
House on 102nd
A house located on 102nd that was remodeled as a single-family dwelling is reportedly being used as a facility for church services. Neighbors who have called to complain have been referred to Portland’s Bureau of Development Services. BDS general information number: 503-823-7300.
2010 Neighborhood Cleanup
Carol reported that there will be an article in the upcoming edition of Mid-County Memo noting that there will NOT be a 2010 neighborhood cleanup event.
National Night Out (NNO)
AJ was able to book representatives from the fire and police departments. Due to potential budget cuts, the Mounted Police could not commit to having a representative at the event.
The Parkrose United Methodist Men’s Group is willing to help with NNO again this year.
When available, Andi will post the agendas of upcoming meetings on the web site.
A flyer needs to be developed that can be posted on church bulletin boards and passed out at schools to provide information about the purpose and needs of PHAN.
An article in The Oregonian reported that Demetrius Payton, a registered sex offender who was released early from prison, was arrested in January near 117th and Sacramento, and is facing new charges of sexual assault.
