COVID-19 Community Needs Assessment: Share your voice to make a difference!
The East Portland Action Plan (EPAP) is seeking to understand how the East Portland community is coping with the coronavirus (COVID-19) shutdown so that we can determine how to better advocate for the needs of all our neighbors here in East Portland.
It's been less than three weeks since our Mayor declared a state of emergency in Portland due to the ongoing spread of the coronavirus, and already, we seeing families unsure how to pay bills after losing their jobs abruptly, significant cultural gatherings canceled, general confusion due to language barriers, more isolation than usual, and mixed information about paying rent, to name a few of the challenges that folks in East Portland are currently facing.
If you are one of the folks negatively impacted by the COVID-19 shutdown, please share with us by taking this survey by April 15, 2020 -- your voice will make a difference! EPAP is in the process of creating a $20,000 minimum community support fund (details to be announced later this week) for organizations helping people on the ground in East Portland with their most pressing needs, including food, shelter, energy assistance, translation/interpretation services, etc. and this survey will help us understand what to focus on. Priority will be given to organizations helping BIPOC, immigrants, refugees, disabled folks, and LGBTQIA+ folks.
The surveys are entirely anonymous, but if you'd like to be entered into a drawing for a $50 grocery gift card, please leave your preferred contact info at the bottom of the survey.
Other ways you can help: if you are a leader in your community or a member of community organizations such as churches, neighborhood associations, business associations, schools, language groups, coalitions, and more, please consider sharing the survey directly with your community, posting on your social media channels, website, newsletters, etc.. We want to capture as many voices as possible to make sure we can address everyone's needs!
