Your tap water is safe to drink. The water treatment process kills microbes, including viruses. Your water is safe to drink during the COVID-19 crisis.

Financial help.
You may be able to get a bill discount or crisis voucher. The Customer Service team is working hard to answer questions. The Portland Water Bureau is maintaining workplace distancing, so they have fewer staff members working than they normally do. You may need to wait longer than normal to talk to a representative.
The Bureau of Environmental Services and the Water Bureau offer financial assistance in the form of: Payment arrangements; Bill discounts for sewer and water charges; Crisis vouchers; The Utility Safety Net program.
