The greater Parkrose neighborhood is a diverse part of Portland, with a high population of communities of color. There are many community assets in the form of a thriving school district and local based groups. Some community concerns in the area include rising rents, the need for more living wage jobs for students and their parents, unsafe conditions on Outer Sandy Blvd, and a disaster preparedness plan. These long- standing issues impact historically marginalized groups the most.
With the support of the Portland Bureau of Planning & Sustainability (BPS), Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), the Historic Parkrose Neighborhood Prosperity Initiative will create the Parkrose Community Plan with underserved groups to address these community concerns.
This online Open House, which is being hosted during the usual Parkrose Neighborhood Associaition meeting time will review the feedback that has been gathered so far and receive additional input from the greater community.
